About the Nomad

The VPI Nomad is a belt-drive turntable designed as an all-in-one vinyl playback system. It includes a pre-mounted Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge, a 10-inch gimbaled/yoke-bearing tonearm, an integrated phono preamplifier matched to the 2M Red, and a built-in headphone amplifier. The phono stage is non-defeatable and provides line-level RCA outputs for connection to an A/V receiver, soundbar, or other analog-input system; a 1/8-inch headphone output is also provided. The turntable supports 33 1/3 and 45 rpm speeds and uses a 24 VAC power supply. Its published dimensions are approximately 470 x 109 x 343 mm (18.5 x 4.3 x 13.5 inches), and its weight is approximately 5.9 kg (13 lb). The headphone amplifier is rated at 395 mW per channel into 150 ohms and 165 mW per channel into 32 ohms. This description applies to the original Nomad V1; VPI subsequently replaced it with the Nomad V2, which uses a 9-inch tonearm.
