The VPI Fatboy Gimbal 10 tonearm is VPI's most rigid 3D-printed tonearm armwand, designed to deliver unparalleled dynamics, bass, responsiveness, and punch. It features a full gimbal bearing and uses Nordost Reference internal wiring for optimal signal transmission. The arm has an effective length of 273.4 mm, a pivot to spindle distance of 258 mm, an overhang of 15.4 mm, and an offset angle of 19.98 degrees. The effective mass is 10.7 grams, and the average RMS distortion is 0.31%. Constructed using advanced 3D technology with materials including epoxy resin, Delrin, copper, aluminum, and steel, it offers a new level of adjustability with an adjustable counterweight, azimuth side weights, VTA (vertical tracking angle), and Limo connection. The micrometer-style precision adjustable counterweight allows fine cartridge setup. This tonearm is a significant upgrade over previous models and is compatible with most VPI Uni-Pivot style turntables as well as other fine turntable models. It is praised for its sonic superiority, including increased dynamics, deeper bass, tighter midrange, and lifelike highs.
