About the Classic Walnut

The VPI Classic Walnut turntable is a special edition in the Classic line, originally created as a 30th Anniversary model and now a permanent offering. It features a solid, non-resonating laminated one-piece MDF chassis with a real walnut wood veneer finish. The turntable includes the special edition JMW-10.5i unipivot tonearm in rigid mount mode, which offers precise tracking with anti-skate standard. The platter is a new investment cast aluminum high inertia design weighing approximately 8kg (about 17.6 lbs) and sits on a precision inverted bearing. The motor is a solid mounted AC synchronous motor providing excellent speed stability comparable to master tape machines. The turntable uses new VPI pure copper internal wiring and has new isolation feet derived from the HR-X model. Dimensions are approximately 20.75" wide x 15.75" deep x 10" high including the tonearm wire loop, and it weighs about 45 lbs. Optional accessories include a lift-off dustcover, center weight, periphery ring clamp, and SDS power supply. The Classic Walnut is praised for its fast, clean, wide-open sound with deep, powerful bass and exceptional speed stability, making it competitive with much higher-priced turntables.
