About the Uni

The Von Gaylord Audio Uni Preamp (Uni) is a high-end preamplifier designed with a two-chassis system including a separate external power supply. It features CNC machined heavy-duty steel chassis with an elegant faceplate and hand-etched Von Gaylord logo. The front panel has a simple layout with two gold-plated control knobs for source selection and volume control. The Uni is a dual mono Class A linestage with completely discrete left and right audio sections, each using one matched pair of NOS G.E. 6SN7 tubes. It employs specialized oil-filled capacitors and custom-made power transformers potted in steel enclosures to reduce noise, hum, and vibration. The internal wiring is hand-soldered point-to-point using Legend Audio silver wire. The rear panel includes three RCA inputs and outputs with a mute toggle switch; no balanced connections are provided. The power supply chassis houses the power toggle switch on its rear. Remote control is standard. This preamplifier is noted for its very low noise floor, strong current delivery, and refined sound quality, making it a flagship product in Von Gaylord's lineup.
