The Von Gaylord Audio Legend IV is a high-end 2-way, rear-ported stand-mount loudspeaker using a 7.25" Kevlar mid-woofer and 1.5" inverted dome Kevlar tweeter, with a slanted front baffle for time-aligned driver orientation and bi-wire connectivity via gold-plated binding posts. The cabinet is finished in a high-gloss real-wood veneer (typically described as rosewood or mahogany) and is built as a compact, heavy monitor rather than a floorstander. Manufacturer specifications list a frequency response of 28 Hz to 25 kHz (±3 dB), sensitivity of 91 dB/W/m, and nominal impedance of 4 ohms (often cited as 4-8 ohms), with a recommended amplifier power range of 35-400 W. Each speaker weighs roughly 31-33 lb (about 66 lb per pair) and measures approximately 11.25" W x 13" D x 14.5-15" H, confirming it as a substantial bookshelf/monitor design. In listening tests it is consistently characterized as delivering a deep, wide soundstage with very strong imaging, extended bass for its size (usefully strong into the mid-40 Hz region despite the 28 Hz spec), smooth and balanced midrange, and clean, sparkling highs, making it suitable as a reference-grade stand-mount speaker when properly stand-mounted and partnered with quality amplification.
