About the HPA V200
The Violectric HPA V200 is a robust, German-made headphone amplifier developed over several years, inspired by classic high-damping, low-noise designs from the 1970s. It features eight transistors per channel and operates internally at ±30 Volts, enabling it to drive both high-impedance headphones like the Sennheiser HD 600, HD 800, and Beyerdynamic T1, as well as demanding low-impedance headphones such as the Audeze LCD-3. The amplifier delivers high output power with very low output impedance (around 0.06 ohms), ensuring excellent damping and minimal distortion. It includes balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs, two 6.3 mm headphone outputs, and adjustable pre-gain settings to optimize performance with various sources and headphones. The V200 can also be optionally equipped with a digital input card supporting USB, coaxial, and optical inputs up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Its solid build includes an aluminum case and a toroidal transformer power supply. The amplifier is praised for its natural tonal balance, high resolution, and dynamic transient response, making it suitable for critical listening and professional use. Although discontinued, its technology forms the basis for newer Violectric models like the HPA V202.
