About the QLA-7
The Victor (JVC) QL-7 is a 2-speed, quartz-locked, direct-drive turntable manufactured in Japan between 1977 and 1981. It features a 12-pole, 24-slot DC servo motor with quartz control and super servo frequency generator speed detection. The turntable has a 2.2 kg platter with 33 1/3 and 45 rpm speeds, offering very low wow and flutter (0.025% WRMS) and excellent speed stability (0.002% deviation). It includes a tracing hold system tonearm with static balance and new gimbal support, effective length of 245 mm, and tracking force adjustable from 0 to 3 g. The unit weighs 10.8 kg and measures 477 x 162 x 401 mm. It outputs via Cinch cable without a built-in sound cell. The original price was approximately 998 Deutsche Mark (DM).
