About the F-1500

The Velodyne F-1500 is a high-performance servo-controlled subwoofer featuring a 15-inch long throw resin/fiber cone driver with a 3-inch voice coil and a powerful 250 watt RMS class AB amplifier built into the enclosure. It employs a servo feedback mechanism using a 2.5 gram accelerometer attached to the voice coil, which senses the speaker cone motion and feeds back to the amplifier to reduce distortion and improve accuracy. The subwoofer has an adjustable low-pass crossover filter (approximately 60 to 75 Hz recommended), variable volume control, selectable phase control (0° or 180°), and line-level as well as speaker-level inputs and outputs. It is designed to deliver deep, clean bass with a frequency response of 18 Hz to 85 Hz ±3 dB, making it ideal for home theater and large-scale music listening. The enclosure measures 20 x 20 x 20 inches and is finished in black vinyl woodgrain. The unit weighs approximately 79 to 90 pounds. It includes a remote control for convenient adjustment of volume and power. The F-1500 is forward firing and offers superior bass accuracy and low distortion compared to typical subwoofers, capable of producing goosebumps-inducing sound effects in music and movies.
