The Velodyne SPL-1000 mkII subwoofer features a 10-inch (8-inch piston diameter) Kevlar driver with a 3-inch dual-layer voice coil and a powerful 346-ounce magnet motor structure. It includes a built-in 1000-watt RMS (2000 watts dynamic) high-efficiency Class D amplifier. The subwoofer offers an adjustable low-pass crossover from 40 to 120 Hz (defeatable), selectable phase control (0° or 180°), and variable volume control. It has line-level (RCA) inputs and outputs, as well as speaker-level inputs with 5-way binding post connections. The frequency response ranges from 24 to 120 Hz, and the unit is magnetically shielded to prevent interference with video equipment. Additional features include signal sensing auto turn on/off (defeatable), multiple staggered low-pass crossovers (12 dB/octave initial, 48 dB/octave ultimate), a Driver Displacement Control circuit to prevent over excursion and amplifier clipping, a blue power indicator LED, high-excursion EPDM rubber surround, and an oversized spider for linearity at high excursion. The enclosure is acoustic suspension (sealed) and designed for front firing. The subwoofer weighs approximately 47 pounds and comes with a two-year warranty on parts and labor.
