About the Phonostage
Phono stages are crucial for vinyl playback as they boost the very low voltage signal (typically around 5-6 mV) from the turntable to a level that can drive speakers, which require signals closer to 2V. Additionally, they apply the RIAA equalization curve, a standard since the 1950s, to correct the frequency response of the audio signal, ensuring it matches the original recording.
