About the Arcus
The Vapor Audio Arcus is a two-way stand-mount loudspeaker designed to deliver high sensitivity, high sound pressure level (SPL) capability, and high resolution with balanced performance across all music genres. It uses a large Beyma Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter crossed over at approximately 1000 Hz to an Acoustic Elegance 10" woofer, enabling a continuous power handling of 500 watts and a sensitivity that supports operation from as low as 8 watts to as high as 800 watts. The design achieves a maximum SPL of 122 dB down to 50 Hz, making it suitable for both audiophile two-channel listening and demanding home theater applications. The speaker's crossover and driver selection emphasize speed, detail, and musicality, with a focus on clarity and ease of long-term listening. The cabinet is robust and designed to minimize resonance, contributing to a coherent and spacious soundstage with excellent imaging and a wide sweet spot. The Arcus has a nominal impedance of 5 ohms and pairs well with both tube and solid-state amplifiers, with recommended power starting around 30 watts per channel. Its design allows for exceptional articulation and detail retrieval even at low listening levels, and it maintains clarity and control at high volumes without congestion or distortion.
