The Vandersteen Audio V2W is a high-performance subwoofer designed specifically for home theater applications. It connects via line-level inputs from the processor's dedicated subwoofer output, providing deep bass extension, power, and dynamics for both music and film. Unlike the 2Wq model, the V2W includes a front-firing 12-inch passive radiator for enhanced output and headroom in multi-channel setups. It employs three downward-firing 8-inch critically-damped long-fiber cone drivers with heavy-duty 1.5-inch 4-layer voice coils and 40 oz. magnet structures, driven by a built-in 300-watt amplifier with feed-forward error correction. The slot-loaded second-order system ensures low pulse overshoot and minimal midrange interference, improving overall system coherence. Adjustable output level matches speakers from 82-100 dB sensitivity, with phase controls for seamless integration. Cabinet is MDF construction with internal bracing to minimize resonances, available in various finishes.
