About the Seven MkII
The Vandersteen Model Seven Mk II is Vandersteen Audio's flagship full-range powered floorstanding loudspeaker, combining time- and phase-coherent design with an integral powered subwoofer and extensive room-tuning capability. It uses Vandersteen's patented Perfect-Piston drivers for the tweeter, midrange, and mid-woofer, along with dual 12" push-pull subwoofer drivers powered by an internal 400-watt amplifier with 11-band bass equalization and adjustable Q for precise in-room bass tailoring. The Mk II revision mechanically alters the acoustic lens around the tweeter and midrange to better align their acoustic centers, reducing network compensation required and yielding a more natural, open presentation with a taller, wider, and more three-dimensional soundstage. The voice-coil leads are woven directly into the subwoofer spiders for increased linear excursion and bass authority. The enclosure uses Vandersteen's ultra-rigid carbon-fiber box-in-box construction and is anchored by the constrained-layer-damped Bedrock base for enhanced mechanical stability. Key specifications: approximately 22Hz–40kHz (±2dB) frequency response, nominal 4-ohm impedance, 83.5dB sensitivity (2.83V/1m). Made in the USA.
