About the D501 Hybrid
The van den Hul D-501 Hybrid is a mat black HULLIFLEX jacketed balanced phono cable with very high shielding factor, developed to support the tone-arm and mixing console industry. It offers extremely good electrical qualities and flexibility. Sonically one of the best in the program, it is not overly expensive with high performance. Regularly used as a microphone cable in professional recordings and as a standard for SME Type V tonearms since 1987. The two signal lines consist of 19 x 0.1 mm very high grade oxygen-free copper (OFC) wires with the highest density of very pure silver coating, plus a Linear Structured Carbon (LSC) saturated coating around the metal group. Signal line insulation is white and yellow cell-PE for easy fingernail stripping to avoid damaging silver-coated strands. Filler uses very flexible specially treated artificial fibres to protect against humidity and chemicals. Shielding comprises 96 x 0.10 mm high grade Matched Crystal (MC) OFC wires with dense very pure silver coating and LSC saturated helical tape. The very flexible black migration-free HULLIFLEX outer jacket prevents chemical deterioration. Type printing repeats every 25 cm (10") for easy cutting. Available in RCA, TAC (angled or straight), XLR versions.
