The Van den Hul Crimson is a high-end moving coil phono cartridge hand-built by A.J. van den Hul, designed as an affordable yet superior alternative to models like The Colibri. It offers a relatively high output, extended channel separation, superb tracking ability, and comes with a free 200-hour service check-up for the original owner. Available in natural light wood, dark wood, red wood, or special Stradivarius lacquer-treated wooden bodies (XGW), or polycarbonate (XGP). Specific characteristics include gold coils, Samarium-Cobalt magnet, VDH 1S stylus shape, and compatibility with tonearms of 10-16g effective mass. Variants like Crimson Stradivarius or Elite may have adjusted output (0.85-0.9mV) and tracking force (1.35-1.5g).
