About the SVP 2

The Vacuum State SVP-2 is a high-end analogue preamplifier combining a hybrid JFET/6922 (E88CC) moving-magnet/moving-coil phono stage with an all-tube line stage. Its circuit design is single-ended/non-differential and uses no global negative feedback in either the phono or line sections. The phono section uses two-stage passive RIAA equalisation, selectable gain, and externally fitted RCA loading plugs; the line section provides selectable gain, low output impedance and high current drive. Available documentation also identifies six E88CC/6922 valves in total: two in the phono stage and four in the line stage. The later SVP-2 configuration is reported to provide six inputs overall: one MM/MC phono input, one dedicated digital line input, four general line inputs, plus tape output and two main outputs.
