The VAC Sigma 160i SE is a compact, full-integrated tube amplifier offering 86 watts per channel. It combines a true triode tube line control amplifier with a triode moving magnet phono stage. The Special Edition (SE) model upgrades input transformers and passive components to those used in VAC's premium Statement series, resulting in greater detail, speed, and weight. It supports optional moving coil (MC) and balanced inputs, includes a remote control and 12-volt trigger, and can be factory-configured for various voltages (100, 120, 220, or 230/240 volts). The amplifier uses 4 KT88 power tubes, 4 12AU7, and 3 12AX7 tubes. Its design emphasizes purity and stability with separate rectifiers and power filters for the preamplifier sections, and a proper volume control rather than digital or VCA controls. The amplifier is finished in hand-rubbed gold-flake gloss black lacquer with chrome knobs, with a metallic silver lacquer option available. An optional glass and machined aluminum cage is also offered for aesthetic enhancement. It weighs approximately 67 lbs and measures 7.9 x 18 x 18 inches (H x W x D).
