About the CP6311
The Usher CP-6311 is a tall, slender, and attractively finished floorstanding speaker with a high gloss piano black finish. It employs a 7" Usher 8945W woofer featuring a cast aluminum frame, carbon fiber filled paper cone, T-shaped pole piece with copper shorting ring and sleeve, and low-loss linear suspension for very low distortion even at high sound pressure levels. The 1" Usher T9950 tweeter uses a coated silk dome, aluminum voice coil, optimized pole piece geometry, and ferrofluid damping for low resonance and distortion. The crossover is an acoustic fourth-order in-phase Linkwitz-Riley design at 2.35kHz. The speaker delivers tuneful bass, fluid midrange, excellent sound staging, and strong detail resolution with a sensitivity of 88dB and nominal impedance of 8 ohms. It handles power from 60 to 250 watts and measures 35cm (W) x 55.7cm (D) x 110cm (H), weighing 39.5kg including the base. While not the deepest in bass extension and with a slight drop-off at 20kHz, it offers a very enjoyable and consistent listening experience at a price point significantly lower than many top-tier HiFi speakers.
