About the Midas Speed
The True Point Midas Speed Controller is a specialized DC motor control system developed by True Point Audio, a UK-based company. It is intended as a high-quality alternative to other premium turntable motor controllers such as Linn Radikal, Mober, and Origin Live. The controller supports multiple speeds including 33.33 RPM, 45 RPM, and optionally 78 RPM. A key feature is its power supply, called MIDAS (Mains Isolated DC Advanced System), which is not directly connected to the AC mains but instead uses a charged capacitor to provide a stable and isolated power source. This design aims to reduce noise and improve the precision and stability of turntable speed control. The unit is well finished and thoughtfully engineered for audiophile applications.
