The Tron Seven Ultimate Phono Stage is a premium valve-based phono preamplifier designed primarily for low output moving coil (MC) cartridges with output levels from 0.24mV to 0.6mV. It uses high-quality 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes and features transformer-coupled inputs and a wholly passive RIAA equalization network, ensuring exceptional sound purity and low noise. The unit offers two user-selectable MC gain settings (+24dB and +30dB) in addition to a fixed +49dB gain stage, allowing compatibility with a wide range of MC cartridges. Cartridge loading is fixed, with typical values around 184 ohms for the lower gain and 46 ohms for the higher gain setting. The phono stage is housed in a meticulously designed enclosure with a screened power supply compartment and multi-layer amplifier PCB to minimize noise and interference. It is renowned for its immersive soundstage, purity, deep and fluent bass, and superb articulation, making it one of the finest phono stages currently available. The unit consumes approximately 10W of power and measures 455mm wide, 105mm high, and 355mm deep. It is considered a high-end, somewhat expensive phono stage, reflecting its hand-matched components and exquisite build quality.
