The Troels Gravesen 8008-Corner is a 2-way speaker system designed specifically for near-wall placement with a 48-liter vented cabinet. It features a system sensitivity of 92 dB/2.8V at 1 meter and an impedance of 8 Ohms with a minimum of 6.5 Ohms at 180 Hz. The crossover is a simple, low-order series LR2 filter at 1.7 kHz, consisting of only four components (two coils, one capacitor, and one resistor), designed for minimal complexity and high performance. The cabinet is constructed from 20 mm Baltic birch or 19 mm MDF with two braces for rigidity. Included damping materials are grey felt and white polyester cloth, and accessories include binding post terminals, port tubes, silver-infused internal wiring cables, solder tag strips, glue for components, and black anodized wood screws. The speaker uses the Jantzen Audio JA8008-HMQ 8" paper cone mid-woofer and SEAS T35C002 tweeter, both designed or selected by Troels Gravesen for optimal sound quality. The design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and room reinforcement for bass, relying on room gain rather than heavy cabinet tuning.
