About the Altitude 16
The Trinnov Altitude 16 is a 16-channel AV preamplifier designed for immersive home theater systems requiring up to 20 channels. It delivers the same processing capabilities and sound quality as the flagship Altitude 32, making Trinnov's best-in-class performance accessible to a wider audience. It supports native decoding and rendering of Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and DTS:X Pro immersive audio formats, with no limitations on channel assignments or subwoofer outputs. The processor natively handles high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio and enables up to four-way active crossovers. Unique features include Trinnov's proprietary speaker remapping and room optimization technologies, which use a 3D microphone to precisely map speaker locations and remap sound elements for accurate placement and tonal balance. Connectivity options include HDMI, digital, and analog inputs and outputs, and the unit is Roon Ready certified for high-resolution music streaming. The Altitude 16 features a solid build with a brushed aluminum front panel and an intuitive user interface with remote access and an iOS app for control. While it currently lacks 8K video and HDMI 2.1 support, a future upgrade is planned. It consumes up to 132W power and measures 442 x 165 x 445 mm (17.4 x 6.5 x 17.52 inches).
