The Transfiguration Orpheus represents a pinnacle in analog music reproduction, designed by Seiji Yoshioka. It features a patented yokeless ring-magnet construction that places the moving coil at the focal point of the magnetic flux field, eliminating phase errors and magnetic irregularities found in conventional designs. This results in unprecedented focus, coherence, and natural resolution. The cartridge uses an ultra-grade SS-μ-metal core with 7N copper coils, a powerful neodymium magnet, and a newly designed boron cantilever with an Ogura PA diamond stylus. The Orpheus is hand-built to extremely tight tolerances, with the coil positioned inside the magnet for intimate magnetic coupling and minimal dynamic mass. This design delivers high output without sacrificing transparency or musicality, making it suitable for direct connection to many phono stages without the need for a step-up transformer.
