About the Salvation
The Trans-Fi Salvation turntable is a unique rim drive design with a solid aluminium platter weighing 9kg and unusually large 14-inch diameter. It features a DC power supply with a no-feedback motor controller and a magnetic platter bearing using opposing magnets for magnetic levitation, updated in 2014. The plinth is made of solid slate, 45mm thick, providing a stable base. The turntable uses Trans-Fi's Reso-Mat platter mat, which lifts the record approximately 12mm above the platter on small pegs, eliminating the need for a record clamp. The Salvation also has magnet levitation suspension feet as a later update. It is often paired with the Terminator linear tracking air-bearing tonearm from Trans-Fi. The turntable is available with either the aluminium platter or an acrylic platter version. The design aims to reduce vibrations and improve sound quality by innovative suspension and platter support techniques.
