About the Mani-2
The Totem Acoustic Mani 2 is a high-end two-way stand-mounted loudspeaker featuring a reflex-loaded, magnetically shielded design. It uses a 1" (25mm) metal-dome tweeter and two 7" (165mm) polypropylene cone woofers arranged in an isobaric (compound) configuration, where one woofer is mounted behind the other magnet-to-magnet. This design allows for deep bass extension and powerful low-frequency output from a relatively compact cabinet. The crossover frequency is set at 4kHz, with a frequency response of 29Hz to 20kHz ±3dB, sensitivity of 85dB/W/m, and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The speakers require a robust amplifier rated between 40 and 200 watts. The cabinet is constructed from variable density MDF with lock-mitered joints and internal bracing to minimize resonance, finished in various veneers such as maple, cherry, or mahogany. Dimensions are approximately 16.5" H x 8.5" W x 12" D (420 x 212 x 305 mm), weighing about 23 lbs (10.5 kg) each. The Mani 2 is praised for its articulate midrange, powerful and deep bass, and top-class timing and dynamics, though it benefits from a powerful amplifier and a suitable listening environment. Originally The speakers remain in production with some updated versions but the original Mani 2 is considered a classic in Totem's lineup.
