About the d120
The Totaldac d120 speakers are a flagship high-end model designed to develop electronics and demo full systems. They feature a 2.5-way design with two 12-inch neodymium bass drivers per side, where both produce bass but only the top driver also produces midrange. The speakers have a bass cut-off at 25Hz (-6dB in room) and an average impedance of 8 ohms. Above 3kHz, a constant directivity horn made of solid wood is used for the 1-inch compression mid/tweeter driver with an organic dome extending treble response up to 24kHz. The cabinet and internal diffusors are made entirely of solid French wood with a 3D curved design for better acoustic wave response, thick walls with no parallel surfaces, and internal wooden diffusors for sound refinement. The crossover uses premium air coils and Claritycap PUR capacitors with point-to-point wiring and is isolated in its own wooden enclosure. Mundorf binding posts accept banana and spade cables. The speakers are designed to be installed straight towards the rear wall without toe-in. Dimensions are 374mm width, 605mm depth, and 1265mm height including feet, weighing 68kg each. They are made in France and The sound is described as ultra-real, with a bookshelf speaker coherency and exceptional resolution from top to bottom, making listeners forget the system and simply enjoy the music.
