About the d110
The Totaldac d110 is a high-end loudspeaker designed and manufactured in France. It features two 12-inch neodymium bass drivers with very high force, arranged in a 2.5-way configuration where both drivers produce bass but only the top driver produces midrange. The speaker has a bass cutoff of 25Hz at -6dB in room and an average impedance of 8 ohms, making it easy to match with any amplifier, including low power triodes. It uses a constant directivity horn above 3.5kHz and a very extended treble 1-inch compression driver with an organic dome. The crossover is made of air coils and selected film capacitors with point-to-point wiring and is isolated in its own wooden enclosure. The cabinet is made of Baltic birch plywood or optionally 100% solid chestnut wood. The speaker dimensions are 320mm wide, 470mm deep, and 1180mm high, weighing 42kg. It is noted for its bookshelf speaker coherency with most sound emanating from the top of the speaker. The drivers and crossover components are sourced from Western Europe manufacturers, and the speaker uses Mundorf binding posts for connectivity. The d110 is no longer the latest model, as it has been succeeded by the d120, which uses similar drivers but with a more complex solid wood cabinet and enhanced internal design.
