About the D1-Twelve MK3
The TotalDAC D1-Twelve MK3 is the latest iteration of the renowned D1-Twelve DAC, designed as a three-box system comprising two MK3 monobloc DACs and an outboard D-1 reclocker. It employs 6 discrete resistor R2R ladders per channel (12 total), using approximately 600 Vishay Foil resistors for exceptional precision. The DAC supports asynchronous 192kHz USB, optical, RCA, and AES-EBU digital inputs selectable by remote control, with formats from 16 to 24 bit and sampling rates up to 192kHz. DSD playback via DoP is optional. It features two sets of outputs: one direct from the R2R ladders (unbalanced RCA and XLR) without active components, and another with a discrete class A transistor output stage for higher voltage output suitable for all preamplifiers. Volume control, phase polarity, and a non-oversampling DAC compensation filter are adjustable via remote control with OLED display. The system includes a BNC clock cable and RCA remote control cable to synchronize both DACs. The design emphasizes minimal noise with external power supplies and advanced anti-jitter FIFO memory clocking.
