About the SA/4e

The Threshold SA/4e is a stereo STASIS power amplifier operating in pure Class A at its rated output, delivering 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms with no more than 0.15% total harmonic distortion from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It uses dual-mono power supplies with approximately 1.4 kW total transformer capacity and around 186,000 uF of filter capacitance, supporting high current delivery and low output impedance into difficult loudspeaker loads. The output stage uses parallel 250W/200V/20A bipolar devices per channel in a compound STASIS topology with very low global feedback, giving wide bandwidth to about 100 kHz and a slew rate near 50 V/us. Inputs include high-impedance unbalanced and 600-ohm balanced connections, with thermal protection and automatic shutdown on over-temperature.
