About the Heros
The Thrax Audio Heros (now in MK2S version) is an unconventional hybrid amplifier combining a single differential DC-coupled FET/tube stage with low-impedance push-pull transformers for double the efficiency of traditional Class A designs. It employs a proprietary DC gain cell based on the 6N6P or 5687 audiophile tube, silver-wire permalloy input transformer, custom toroidal output transformers, high-voltage Silicon Carbide diodes, and filter choke for a noise-free power supply. The chassis acts as a heat sink for efficient thermal management in this vibration-free, fully differential design with input/output transformers for noise isolation. Available in black or silver anodized aluminum finishes, it delivers unparalleled performance in a compact form, praised in reviews for its pristine sound quality, three-dimensional imaging, and liberation of music from solid-state limitations.
