The Thorens TD 150 Super Build is a vintage 2-speed (33 and 45 rpm) belt-driven turntable featuring a suspended subchassis design that isolates the platter and tonearm for reduced vibration and improved sound quality. Manufactured between 1965 and 1973, it includes a slimline chassis with a precision cueing synchroniser that gently lowers the tonearm to extend stylus and record life. The tonearm has an adjustable low-mass plug-in headshell allowing tracking angle adjustment to an ideal 15 degrees, with low friction to accommodate high compliance cartridges. It features anti-skate control for distortion-free reproduction and allows fine tracking force adjustments down to 0.5g. The platter weighs approximately 3.4 kg and is precision balanced. The motor is a 16-pole synchronous motor with mechanical speed switching. The subchassis and platter are suspended by three springs to minimize resonance and vibration. The TD 150 was originally sold with various tonearm configurations, including the TP 13 and TP 13a tonearms, with some models lacking tonearms or bases.
