The Thorens TD 124 DD is a technologically perfected reimagining of the iconic TD 124 turntable originally introduced in 1957. It features a high-precision direct drive AC motor replacing the original friction wheel and belt motor, providing powerful torque, precise speed control, and effective vibration isolation. The turntable has a height-adjustable die-cast aluminum chassis resting on vibration-damping rubber elements, and a 3.5 kg aluminum platter. It includes the newly designed TP 124 tonearm with an effective mass of 15 grams, adjustable in all parameters, equipped with an electric tonearm lift and an innovative anti-skating system with a ruby bearing. The removable headshell uses an SME connector and offers flexibility for cartridge selection. Outputs include balanced stereo XLR and unbalanced RCA pairs, with a high-quality external TPN 124 power supply ensuring interference-free power delivery.
