About the Transcription (12''/Type-G)
The Thomas Schick Transcription Tonearm (12''/Type-G) is a classic, long transcription tonearm designed for high fidelity vinyl playback. It features ultra-high precision ball bearings with extremely low friction, ensuring smooth motion and longevity. The arm is hand-machined in Germany and available in finishes including gold-plated shiny, black chrome matte, and nickel palladium matte. It supports SME or SPU-G style cartridges and comes with either a 5-pin tonearm connector or a 1.1 meter captive low capacitance shielded cable with Neutrik RCA plugs. The tonearm includes a lift and anti-skating mechanism, with options for regular or heavyweight counterweights to accommodate various cartridge masses. The headshell is removable, and a graphite headshell is recommended for optimal performance.
