About the 9.6"
The Thomas Schick 9.6" Tonearm is a transcription tonearm crafted with ultra high-precision ball bearings and designed to minimize resonance and moving mass. It offers an effective length of 245.8 mm, which is longer than most 9 inch arms, reducing sonic interference and signal degradation. The tonearm supports cartridges with compliance up to 22 µm/mN and weights of 6 grams or more. It includes a tonearm lift and antiskating mechanism, with adjustable azimuth, VTA (tonearm height), and tracking force. The arm is finished in polished aluminum or full black and comes with a 1.1-meter captive low capacitance cable with Neutrik RCA plugs. The headshell is not included but the optional Schick Graphite headshell, made from oil-soaked graphite weighing 15 g, is recommended for optimal performance. The mounting distance of 229 mm allows plug-in replacement on EMT record players without modification. This tonearm is manufactured with the same parts and process as the longer 12 inch Schick tonearm, ensuring consistent quality and cost.
