The Thomas Schick 12 is a classic long tonearm with an effective length of 317.5 mm and a pivot to spindle distance of 304.75 mm. It features null points at 66 mm and 120.9 mm based on Baerwald geometry, an offset angle of 17.11°, and a stylus overhang of approximately 12.8 mm. The arm is made from polished aluminum with finishes available in gold-plated shiny, black chrome matte, or nickel palladium matte. It includes a tonearm lift, antiskating mechanism, and comes with either a 5-pin tonearm connector or a 1.1 meter captive low capacitance cable with Neutrik RCA plugs. The arm is suitable for cartridges weighing 6 grams or more with compliance below 20 µm/mN, including low compliance and SPU cartridges. The design incorporates multiple damping materials to control resonant energy, resulting in a nearly resonance-free performance. Recommended headshells include damped graphite or wood versions.
