About the CS 7.2

The Thiel CS7.2 is a four-way floorstanding loudspeaker with a reflex-loaded passive radiator design. It features a 1-inch metal-dome tweeter coaxially mounted in a 3-inch cone midrange, a 6.5-inch lower-midrange cone driver, a 12-inch cone woofer, and a 12-inch passive radiator. The crossover uses first-order acoustic slopes at 200Hz, 1kHz, and 3kHz, delivering a frequency response of 25Hz to 17kHz within 1.5dB and phase response within 10 degrees. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms with a 3 ohm minimum, and recommended amplifier power is 100 to 500 watts. The cabinet stands 55 inches high by 14 inches wide by 19 inches deep, weighing 168 lbs. The CS7.2 is available in walnut, black ash, white oak, natural cherry, and black laminate finishes. Produced from approximately 1997 until Thiel Audio ceased operations in 2018, it is renowned for its wide listening area coherence, excellent depth, and soundstage comparable to high-end electrostatics.
