About the DSPro Gen Va
The Theta Digital DSPro Gen Va is a DSP-based digital-to-analog converter (DAC) featuring a powerful 129 effective MIPS DSP engine with 56-bit mathematical resolution and 20-bit output resolution. It includes three standard digital inputs: AES/EBU, coaxial on RCA jack, and coaxial on BNC jack, with optional optical inputs available. The unit employs an 8x-oversampling custom software-controlled digital filter and an all-discrete analog output stage with no operational amplifiers, providing a refined and smooth sound with excellent detail retrieval. It offers balanced outputs at 5V RMS and unbalanced outputs at 2.5V RMS, with output impedances of 26 ohms (balanced) and 1 ohm (single-ended). The frequency response ranges from 1 Hz to 21 kHz, with a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 108 dB and total harmonic distortion below 0.002% at full output. The chassis measures 19" wide by 3.5" high by 13" deep and weighs 35 pounds. Originally It was manufactured by Theta Digital Corporation in Agoura Hills, CA.
