About the DSP
The Theta Digital DSP is a DSP-based digital-to-analog converter featuring multiple digital inputs including AES/EBU, coaxial, and optional optical inputs. It uses an 8x-oversampling custom software-controlled digital filter and offers 129 effective MIPS computing power with 56-bit mathematical resolution and 20-bit output resolution. The unit provides a frequency range from 1 Hz to 21 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 108 dB, and total harmonic distortion at full output of less than 0.002%. It has balanced and unbalanced outputs with output levels of 5V RMS and 2.5V RMS respectively, and output impedances of 26 ohms (balanced) and 1 ohm (single-ended). The DSP is housed in a 19" W by 3.5" H by 13" D chassis weighing 35 lbs. It was originally The design includes advanced power supply regulation and jitter reduction technologies to ensure high fidelity playback.
