About the Data Universal

The Theta Digital Data Universal is a videodisc-based universal transport capable of playing CD audio, 8-inch and 12-inch Laservision videodiscs. It features a Philips CDV-400 mechanism enhanced with Theta's data-clocking circuit for improved sonic performance, housed in a solid chassis. Outputs include one digital audio (S/PDIF), one video, one stereo analog audio pair (for Laserdisc), one S-video, and one RF on F-type jack. It includes a full-function infrared remote control. Dimensions: 19" W x 5.5" H x 17.5" D (482.6 x 139.7 x 444.5 mm). Weight: heavy. Optional AT&T glass fiber output available. Released around 1991, it is a legacy product no longer manufactured or supported.
