The Tenor HPS-150 is a reference-grade stereo power amplifier that combines a ten-tube, fully suspended, class A stereo gain stage with a dual trans-impedance solid-state output stage. Unlike typical hybrid amplifiers that use solid-state gain stages, the HPS-150 features a 100% tube-driven gain stage, which directly feeds the output stage. Each channel uses eight carefully matched solid-state devices for high instantaneous peak power and stability across a wide range of loads. The amplifier is noted for its dynamic power reserve (3 dB, allowing momentary doubling of output power without signal degradation), robust regulated power supplies, and immunity to AC voltage fluctuations and speaker load variations.
