About the 175S
The Tenor 175S is a single chassis luxury analogue amplifier based on the acclaimed 350M Ultimate Reference Mono Blocks. It delivers 175 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 350 watts at 4 ohms, and 650 watts at 2 ohms, with a voltage gain of 32 dB unbalanced and 30 dB balanced. The amplifier uses a hybrid design combining a tube-driven first stage with MOSFET output transistors, providing a warm, slightly soft sound with excellent resolution, tonal saturation, and a natural, musical presentation. It features Tenor's proprietary Harmonic Structural Integrity (HSI) technology, which ensures zero perceived distortion and a fatigue-free listening experience. The 175S is handcrafted in Quebec with a solid cherry wood fascia and includes advanced protection circuitry monitoring six harmful conditions. The amplifier supports both RCA and XLR inputs and has a 20A IEC power socket. The 20th Anniversary Limited Edition model released in 2024 commemorates 20 years of Tenor's hybrid design and includes patent-pending harmonic spectrum technology. The 175S is highly regarded for its ability to drive virtually any loudspeaker with correct harmonic structure, producing a spacious, detailed soundstage and a natural, relaxed musicality.
