About the SL-Q3
The Technics SL-Q3 is a Japanese-made, fully automatic quartz-locked direct-drive turntable system produced approximately from 1979 to 1981. It combines a brushless DC motor, aluminum die-cast platter, automatic start, return, stop, and repeat functions, and a statically balanced universal tonearm. Its quartz-controlled speed regulation, low wow and flutter, TNRC resonance-control construction, and front-panel operation make it a capable vintage record player. It requires an external phono preamplifier or an amplifier with a phono input. Condition, cartridge, stylus, dust cover, and regional voltage should be checked carefully when buying a used example.
