About the SL-110

The Technics SL-110 is a vintage manual direct-drive turntable manufactured in Japan between 1972 and 1977. It features an ultra-large 350mm diameter aluminum diecast platter weighing 2 kg, dynamically balanced for high inertial moment and speed stability. The platter includes strobo marks for speed checking. The motor is a brushless DC type with an electronic commutator, eliminating wow and flutter caused by transmission mechanisms and brush deterioration, resulting in extremely low rumble (-70 dB) and speed stability (wow and flutter 0.03% WRMS). The motor consumes less than 1/100th the power of a conventional AC motor. It supports 33 and 45 rpm speeds with 10% pitch control and separate fine speed adjustment for each speed. The turntable weighs approximately 13 to 13.5 kg including the dust cover and measures 510 x 390 x 195 mm. It was designed without a tonearm, allowing users to fit their choice of tonearm, such as the SME 3009 series. The SL-110 is noted for its robust build quality, low vibration, and precise electronic speed control, making it a respected model among vintage audiophiles.
