About the C600
The Technical Audio Devices Laboratories (TAD) C600 is a reference-grade solid-state line preamplifier designed for ultimate audio fidelity. It employs a fully balanced dual-mono construction with symmetrical left/right circuitry to ensure precise signal transmission and resistance to external noise. Key technologies include a precision-machined 33mm thick aluminum sub-chassis weighing 15kg for superior vibration isolation, a ladder-resistance switching electronic volume control with channel matching better than 0.1dB and distortion of 0.0005% at 1Vrms, and a simple signal path with a single voltage amplification stage per channel. The dual-enclosure design separates the main unit from the power supply to minimize noise from vibrations and magnetic flux. It supports Extreme Link for multi-unit synchronization up to six channels. Inputs include 3 balanced XLR and 3 unbalanced RCA; outputs comprise 2 balanced XLR and 2 unbalanced RCA line outs, plus 1 balanced XLR and 1 unbalanced RCA tape/recording outs. Front panel features large volume and source knobs, DC-powered yellow LED display, and menu-adjustable functions like L/R balance, input levels, and mute. Originally A successor, the C700, was announced, indicating the C600 is an older model.
