The TEAC CD-P650 is a full-size CD player with USB recorder and iPod/iPhone digital interface, designed for playback and digital archiving of music from discs and USB devices. It plays audio CDs, CD-R/RW, and MP3 discs, and supports MP3/WMA files stored on USB memory sticks, with the ability to record (rip) music from CD directly to USB as MP3 without a computer. A front-panel USB port accepts USB flash drives and provides a digital connection for compatible iPod/iPhone models (via optional dock/tray in some markets), allowing playback while bypassing the portable device's analog circuitry and charging during use. The player uses a Burr Brown 1791ADBR 24-bit/192kHz DAC for high-quality conversion of digital audio, enhancing the sound of compressed files and standard CDs. It offers analog stereo RCA line outputs and a digital optical output, plus a 6.3 mm (1/4") headphone jack with independent volume control on the front panel for private listening. Playback functions include program (up to 32 tracks), shuffle/random, repeat, intro scan, and folder navigation for MP3/WMA files, shown on a clear multi-function display. A center-mounted disc drive mechanism clamps the CD to reduce vibration and jitter, contributing to clearer sound. The unit includes a wireless remote control and is finished in black.
