The Tascam DA30mk3 is a stereo digital audio recorder/player that supports 48kHz, 44.1kHz, and 32kHz sampling rates for both playback and recording. It features a bright orange-on-black large information display showing levels, counters, and other operational data. The unit includes fine resolution multi-segment audio level meters with a Margin facility that indicates remaining headroom before digital saturation, helping optimize recording levels. The DA30mk3 has a dedicated headphone output with its own volume control, capable of driving 600 Ohm headphones as well as low impedance types. It is designed for professional use with digital peak-hold meters and a remote control that allows setting display brightness at four levels. The system is forgiving of very short-term overloads but encourages staying within advised limits for clean recordings. This model is a successor to earlier DA30 versions, maintaining Tascam's reputation for reliable digital mastering and playback equipment.
