About the Yorkminster

The Tannoy Yorkminster is a prestigious loudspeaker from the Tannoy Prestige range, designed for residential audio use. It features a 12-inch (300mm) Dual Concentric driver with a treated paper pulp cone and HE twin roll fabric surround, combined with a 2-inch (51mm) aluminium alloy dome high-frequency driver with an Alnico magnet system and PepperPot Waveguide for precise sound dispersion. The speaker is bi-wired with a hard-wired passive crossover that is low loss and time compensated, with a 2nd order crossover for both low and high frequencies at 1.1kHz. It has a twin rear-ported enclosure with a volume of 200 liters, constructed from high-density 18mm birch plywood, internally crossbraced and heavily damped. The cabinet is finished in lacquered teak veneer with solid teak trim detail. The Yorkminster is recommended for amplifiers delivering 50 to 250 watts, with a continuous power handling of 150 watts RMS and a frequency response of 23Hz to 22kHz (-6dB). Sensitivity is rated at 95dB (2.83V/1m) with an 8-ohm nominal impedance. Dimensions are approximately 1080mm high, 620mm wide, and 447mm deep, weighing 61.5kg (135.6 lbs).
