About the Sandringham SE
The Tannoy Sandringham SE is part of the prestigious Tannoy Prestige range, designed to deliver exceptional audio performance with traditional craftsmanship. It employs an 8-inch (200mm) Dual Concentric driver, which integrates the high frequency compression driver coaxially within the low frequency cone, ensuring point source sound radiation and excellent stereo imaging. The high frequency unit uses an aluminium alloy dome with a Tulip Waveguide for smooth, uncoloured response and superb transient performance. The cabinet is constructed from high-density 18mm birch plywood and 18mm particle board, internally braced and heavily damped, finished with hand-selected walnut veneers. The speaker features a coupled reflex distributed port system (DPS) for controlled bass response and uses high purity Van den Hul wiring internally. It supports bi-wiring and bi-amping with a 5-point gold-plated terminal panel including a ground terminal to minimize RF interference. Recommended amplifier power ranges from 30 to 150 watts, with a continuous power handling of 95 watts RMS. Frequency response spans from 39 Hz to 25 kHz (-6 dB), sensitivity is 90 dB (2.83 V @ 1 m), and nominal impedance is 8 ohms. Dimensions are approximately 890 mm height, 332 mm width, and 230 mm depth, with a cabinet volume of 39 liters. The speaker weighs about 21 kg. The Sandringham SE is noted for its tight, controlled bass, fluid midrange, and clear high frequencies, making it a compact yet uncompromising floorstanding loudspeaker.
