The Taiko Audio Taiko SGM Extreme is a high-end, computer-based music server and streamer designed for demanding digital-audio systems. It uses dual Intel Xeon Scalable 10-core processors, with separate processing resources intended for operating-system and audio-playback duties, together with 48 GB of custom industrial memory. The server employs a fanless, high-precision passive-cooling system and a substantial linear power supply using a 400 VA transformer, Lundahl chokes, and extensive Mundorf and Duelund capacitor banks. Its CNC-machined hybrid chassis combines copper, aluminium, and Panzerholz. The unit runs a customized Windows-based operating system with Roon Core installed; HQPlayer availability depends on configuration or request. Digital outputs such as S/PDIF and AES/EBU were offered as optional modules. Remote setup and maintenance are supported through preinstalled remote-access software. Published manufacturer material gives differing weights of 42 kg and 45 kg; the more recent product and manual specifications list 45 kg.
