The TAD E-1 (Evolution One) speaker system is a premium 3-way vented-box design developed entirely in Japan, embodying TAD's Reference One DNA with innovative advancements. It features a coaxial Coherent Source Transducer (CST) driver combining a 3.5cm beryllium dome tweeter concentrically mounted within a 14cm magnesium cone midrange, delivering a point source sound from 250 Hz to 100 kHz for superb time coherency and directivity. The bass section includes two 18cm Multi-layered Aramid Composite Cone (MACS) woofers designed for exceptional stiffness and damping, providing deep, controlled bass down to 28 Hz. The enclosure employs TAD's Bi-Directional Aero-Dynamic Slot (ADS) porting system with flared openings to minimize turbulence and distortion, ensuring powerful and clean low-frequency reproduction. The system has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, sensitivity of 88 dB, and can handle up to 250 watts input. The cabinet is finished in high gloss black Zebrano veneer and weighs approximately 54 kg per unit. Accessories include spikes and spike holders. The E-1 delivers immersive, linear frequency response and wide sound dispersion, making it suitable for critical audiophile listening and room-filling sound reproduction.
